What is the course about?
This is non-accredited course which can benefit someone who is a new team leader/supervisor
or who is in development to move into this role. It can also be applicable to an experienced team
leader/supervisor who wishes to upskill in study before committing to a full qualification. Each
session will include a range of activities and resources to cater for a variety of different learning
styles and abilities within the group; questioning will be targeted at a learner’s ability in order to
stretch and challenge.

This course is a recognised programme with Chartered Management Institute (CMI). As part of
the course the learner will be registered with CMI to access resources for the training.

Pre Course Work

1. The learner should hold a recent (no older than 6 months) PDP or feedback with
   objectives from their line manager. If not, to hold a meeting.
2. To reflect on this feedback including their own feedback, and development objectives and
   be prepared to discuss their reflection.
3. To complete Honey and Mumford’s Learning Style Questionnaire

Day 1
To understand the concept of reflective practice to personal and professional development as an
aspiring leader and how this can be implemented along with a Personal Development Plan.

Day 2
To understand the concept of culture to an organisation, the impact of values and the
relationship with behaviour.

Day 3
To understand leadership styles and their impact on self and others.

Day 4
To consolidate the learnings from the previous three sessions and demonstrate how learners
will apply this in the workplace.

Assessment
Delegates must complete all sections of the course. The tutor to mark the assignment and
assess the reflective journal before final sign off.

Certification
This course is a recognised programme with Chartered Management Institute (CMI). On
completion of the course, the learner will receive a CMI certificate.

Duration
This is a 4-day course which can be delivered in 4 consecutive days or can be split across
several weeks if preferred. This can be tailored to the needs of the employer/learner.
